This competition is promoted and administered by the Martin Moran Foundation, a charitable organisation supporting young climbers and mountaineers.

 

Eligibility

• Entrants must be 18 years or older at the time of entry.

• The competition is open to UK residents only.

• Employees of the Martin Moran Foundation and their immediate family members are not eligible to enter.

 

Competition Details

• Entry fee: £10 per entry.

• There is no limit on the number of entries per person.

• The competition opens on 13th February 2026 and closes at 30th October 2026.

• Winners will be chosen at random from all valid entries.

• Three (3) winners will be selected to receive one (1) full day of expert instruction in the Cairngorm Mountains.

Prize Details

• Winners may choose from the following disciplines: hillwalking, rock climbing, winter climbing, winter skills or other mountaineering-based activities.

• The experience must be booked in advance and is subject to instructor availability.

• The prize can be redeemed at any time of the year, subject to weather conditions and safety considerations.

• The prize does not include travel, accommodation, or personal equipment unless otherwise stated.

• The winner is allowed to bring one other person with them, ensuring a maximum ratio of one guide to two clients.

• The winner must redeem their day within one year of being contacted.

Winner Selection & Notification

• Winners will be selected randomly within 7 days of the competition closing date.

• The winners will be contacted via email or phone. If a winner does not respond within 14 days, a new winner may be selected.

• The Martin Moran Foundation reserves the right to verify the eligibility of winners before confirming the prize.

Liability & Responsibility

• The Martin Moran Foundation and its partners accept no responsibility for lost, delayed, or incomplete entries.

• Participation in mountain activities carries inherent risks. Winners must sign a waiver acknowledging the risks involved before undertaking the experience.

• The Martin Moran Foundation reserves the right to amend or cancel the competition if necessary.

Personal information provided by entrants will be used solely for the purpose of administering this competition and will not be shared with third parties without consent.
